Chic-Boy Adventures

One of our family get-aways ehe...well, not really.  Let me get that straight-out, I think food trip would be the more appropriate term to use.  Lead us to this relatively new restaurant this side of the country.  Although I have been hearing and seeing it in the web, I really haven't tried tasting what CHIC-BOY Restaurant is offering its customers.

So, armed with curiosity and some good feedbacks from friends who have tried it, we dared.  We were not disappointed.  By the way,  they have their own website so researching details about their group wasn't that hard.  I love how the mouse pointer transforms and blazes (literally!)  For more details view it here.

ABOUT THE BRAND

Chic-Boy™ is a new trademark and business model of Pier One Bar and Grill Holdings Corporation, the company behind the successful Pier One Bar and Grill restaurant chain in the Philippines.

Having first tried the delicious and tasty lechon manok and lechon liempo in Cebu and the Chicken Inasal of Bacolod, Pier One Bar and Grill Holdings Corporation saw its business potential and the opportunity to tap into the lechon manok, lechon liempo and chicken inasal industry and therefore, brought the secret recipe to Manila. Chic-Boy™ opened its first Dine- In store last 05 May 2010 and began offering its Dine-In store concept for franchise. In just 1 year and 3 months since we opened our first franchised store in Molito Alabang, we have grown into a total of ninety two (92) dine- in stores, eighty eight (88) units of which are franchised. Thirty eight (38) more franchised stores are under construction.  The one we tried was their Sto. Rosario Angeles City branch.

OUR EXPERIENCE

The moment we stepped into the place, we knew it was good.  How?  Well, except for the nice wafty aroma of the food, the place was jam-packed AS IN.  And I found out that they are also fish friendly and offer some other dishes apart from their famous chicken and baboy(pork).

THE MENU

The restaurant has a pretty extensive menu line-up offering group meals, value meals and orders for rather bigger groups.  They even have breakfast line-up, merienda (snack) options and some rice all you can offerings too!

    1. yes i think this was it... but then again, with franchising businesses just like this one.. you cannot fault the entire group for just one... well at least depending on the circumstances.

  6. I've only eaten at Chic-Boy once, but it was a good experience. I didn't like their chicken that much, but I love their kangkong! :D However, I don't understand why they added Japanese on their menu.. :(

  12. Hmmm...I guess the food that they offer is just generic to what others are offering...but I love their page...instant loading...we have our Tita Fannies Liempo and Chicken house which is the first in the country to offer "Liempo" I have a feeling that his would follow the steps of Mang-Inasal...

  13. I was treated at Chic Boy (near West Avenue QC Branch) last January. Their chicken inasal and liempo were my favorites! I wonder when will they have a branch here at Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

  14. As far as I know ChicBoy is related to the former owner of Mang Inasal di ba? That after selling it to Jollibee, the owner came up with Chicboy. I hope I'm not mistaken.

Well anyway, since the offerings are foods common to the Filipino taste, I believe it will capture the heart of the masses and I can see a big future for Chicboy :))

  16. good timing for this post - coz i am eating now. and yea i agree, chic boy is good. in fact its branch in novaliches bayan was able to accommodate my huge family (21 altogether) sudden trip for a late lunch after graduation program last year when jollibee declares we have to wait 30 minutes for the bucket of chicken order. i should check back for the dinuguan at puto..

  20. I haven't tried Chic-Boy pa pero I like Pier One. So maybe when Chic-Boy comes here, maybe there's a chance that I'd like it. The prices, based on the photos you posted, are affordable so I'm definitely giving it a try. :)

  22. i have been gone to the country for a long time and missing those Filipino food and resto like Chic Boy so much .The food looks yummy.Iba talaga mga lutong pinoy.

  23. My family and I have been to Chic-Boy several times. It is our another option when we crave for chicken inasal. It is indeed affordable. We normally have chicken barbecue, sinigang na salmon, and bangus belly. the complete meal will only cost us around a thousand bucks. Very affordable indeed!

  24. namannnnnn.... craving to eat na me pinoy foods!!! makes me miss pinas more!!! sarap.. sisig, inasal, enseladang mangga!!!!

  25. Haven't tried Chicboy yet. One reason is that no one has recommended this as a great eating place or how great their food is. Their issue on FB back then is just secondary, since we cannot tell naman if that's even true or just some marketing scheme from the competitors. Anyway, maybe someday I will try their chicken and kangkong. Thanks for sharing this!

  26. heard a lot of good things about chicboy but I'm still wondering if that "worm" incident was true. Anyhoots, the food looks delish.

  27. Chic-Boy is not a spin-off of Mang Inasal. Chic-Boy is owned by Pier One Holdings Corporation.
